(Coverage: An engaging action film, blends wartime drama with the fast pace of an Indiana-Jones-style adventure. Screenplay Readers)

Synopsis:  Gary, a NAVY SEAL on loan to the State Department, is in love with Krystal, but she suffers from stress drama resulting from rape by Osai, an Iraqi Prince, when she was thirteen. She goes back to Iraq to persuade her father to leave before a war starts and to get revenge on Osai. Gary soon follows with Sam, an older special agent, assigned to find Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction and prevent their use.

Gary (Arab name Rami) and Sam (Arab name Basil) fast rope into Iraq, are ambushed and have to fight their way in.  They have been told to meet Malik Saeed, one of the “Blues Brothers” who will help them. They meet Shai, Malik’s son who turns out to be a young woman, Shahrazad, disguised as a boy.  She knows more about what they seek than she lets on and joins them in their dangerous search.  She’s also infatuated with Rami.

Krystal meets an Iraqi officer, charms him, and uses him to gain access to the palace where Osai plans to use WMD on American troops if they attack.  Shahrazad is revealed as a young woman and joins Rami and Basil, against Basil’s objection, as they pursue a lead to find the Scorpion and the WMD.  Their search leads them into the mysterious Sumerian Underground and up the Euphrates River to an old palace.

Krystal is again captured by Osai and faces her worst nightmare, not only Osai but also his pet tiger, Sinbad.  Rami and Basil rescue Krystal and she joins them in their pursuit of the Scorpion and the WMD.  Many dangers face them as The Scorpion evades them, the Americans attack and they must deal with the betrayal of one of them.  The Scorpion’s identity is revealed and they discover his motives are far from what they have been told.

Coverage: An engaging action film, "Trail of the Scorpion" blends wartime drama with the fast pace of an Indiana-Jones-style adventure as our protagonists confront underground temples, secret traps, vicious animals, and mysterious villains. The script offers a clever twist on history and builds inventive action scenes around its unique setting.
